FAQ

How do I book a session?

It’s really not as confusing as it may seem. You can contact me through my Facebook Page at Amanda Faye Photography (linked at the bottom of this page), my Instagram (also linked at the bottom of this page), or by using the contact tab in the upper right hand corner. I’ll reply by Facebook Message, Instagram Dm, Phone or Email and we will start planning your awesome session or wedding!

If I’m the right photographer for you the process is:
1. Contact Me!
2. Pick Me! (I like this part!)
3. Pick your date, time, and session location.
4. Review the online contract & sign digitally.
5. Submit payment for your non-refundable retainer.
6. Make not that your remaining balance is due the day of your session, prior to your session start time, or 14 days before your booked wedding date.
7. For weddings, meet with me to finalize shot lists and timeline details at least 2 weeks prior to your booked date.
8. Get together, have a great time, and create gorgeous images!
9. Receive sneak peeks within 24 hours for sessions, within 72 hours for weddings.
10. In approximately 2-4 weeks receive your completed online gallery or 6-8 weeks for weddings.

How does payment work?

Once you’ve decided we are a great team I will forward a contract and invoice to you by email.
All sessions and weddings require a 20% non-refundable retainer to be paid at the time of booking to reserve your date.
*For sessions, the remaining balance is due the day of your session.
*For weddings, the remaining balance is due 14 days before your wedding date.

For both weddings and portrait sessions, I accept payment in the form of Credit Card. I will send you an invoice that has a link to make your payment through Stripe. I also accept payment through Venmo.

Payment Plans are available for all sessions and weddings!
They can be customized to best fit your financial needs.

When will we get our photos?

Editing time varies; 2-4 weeks for portrait sessions, and approximately 6-8 weeks for weddings.
Once the edited images are complete, they’ll be uploaded into an online gallery and you will be contacted via email with your gallery link (I will also shoot you a text or Facebook message).
You can download all the photos from the gallery, share them, choose your favorites, and also order albums and prints!
For weddings, I realize downloading hundreds of photos could be a complicated and timely process! I give you the online gallery link to share on social media and to make ordering albums and prints from me easier, but I also send you a USB with your full gallery and print release!

What if we have to cancel or reschedule?

If for some reason you need to reschedule your session let me know as soon as possible. My calendar can fill up weeks in advance and we want to get you back on the schedule as soon as possible. There is no fee to reschedule your session. Session fees (minus the non-refundable retainer) are refundable if you need to cancel your session entirely.

If you need to reschedule your wedding date it is vital that you let me know the new date as soon as possible so that I can ensure I’m not already booked. All wedding deposits are transferred and applied to the new date. Should a wedding be canceled entirely all money paid above and beyond the 25% non-refundable retainer will be refunded to you.

As a courtesy, you may choose to apply the wedding retainer towards a session of your choice within 12 months of the date of cancellation.

How do you photograph weddings?

I love being by your side to help you before your wedding day. I love to receive pictures of your little details to get an idea of what your day is going to look like! I will help you decide on your wedding day must haves and I will be honest with you when deciding on the things you may not need.
I will help you form a detailed timeline of the day for photos! This may be one of my most favorite parts of the planning process. You tell me all the things you want, and I do the hard part of putting it all together. If you don't have a planner or day of coordinator, I'm happy to help with the timeline for the rest of the day too. Just simply ask and you shall receive!
On your wedding day, I want to capture the feelings, the mood, the emotions, the calm and crazy moments and all the details that make your wedding unique. I want to make your day as stress free as I possibly can. I will be your dress zipper-upper, your dress fluffer, your therapist, your voice when you need me to be and your personal hype man all day long! Be prepared to be complimented over and over and over again while I show you how amazing you look on my camera screen.
I try my very best to go above and beyond for all of my weddings! You invest so much when booking me and I want to show you just how much I appreciate YOU for choosing me to capture one of the most important days of your life.

Can we include pets in our session / wedding?

Super simple answer: YES!
Yes, yes, yes... did I mention Yes?!
I love incorporating our furry family members! Just let me know during our planning if you'll be bringing any four legged, winged, or scaled family members with you so that I can plan appropriately.
Some venues/locations will not allow pets on the premises, so it's something we need to discuss right away to ensure the success of your session or wedding portraits.

What should I wear?

Short answer: wear something that you feel comfortable in, something that makes you feel like you!
Neutrals will ALWAYS photograph beautifully for any location.
If you need more guidance, feel free to reach out to me at any time! You can also view my Pinterest board. I can send you a link if you'd like.

Do I have to order prints through you?

You do not have to order prints through me. I give you a print release to be able to print and order from wherever you prefer.
However, I do have the option for you to order through me to ensure quality of prints and albums.
Each gallery has a 'Print Store' button. Click that and you can browse all of the products available to you!

Do you meet with people before booking?

For weddings, I always try and meet with a couple (at least by Facetime/Zoom) before anything is booked and set in stone. This little meet and greet allows you to ask me all the questions you can possibly think of, and get to know my personality a little bit. I also like to get a feel for who you are as a couple, what your expectations are, wedding details you may already have in place, etc. We need to make sure we are going to be an awesome fit!

For families and anything else, I don't usually meet up beforehand, unless you want to! Then I am totally down to go grab some ice cream, or Starbucks, and go over any questions you may have!

What if my kids start crying or don't want to cooperate?

I'm a mom. I TOTALLY get this. I cannot get my kids to cooperate with me alllll the time. If you're kids aren't interested in taking pictures, that's not a huge deal. At all. We can just focus on other family members for a bit while said child takes a minute to regroup. I do love to play games and do lots of fun and silly things though, so more often than not, kiddos love to join in and have fun with the rest of the family. I'll do my absolute best to get them to cooperate!

If your kiddo still just doesn't want anything to do with pictures, and you're ok with REAL moments being photographed, I'll get those pictures for you. Sometimes the sweetest and most emotive images come from you wiping away your child's tears, comforting them when they're sad, or just having a private moment with them if they are overwhelmed.

What time of day is best for our shoot?

Any time of day works for me, but my preferred and most favorite time of day to shoot is golden hour! Golden hour is usually about an hour or half hour before sunset. The lighting then is gorgeous, warm, and creates the most beautiful images. If that time doesn't work for you, let me know and we can shoot at a different time of day!

We aren't the most comfortable in front of a camera. How can you help?

Personally, I’m shy in front of a camera most times (which is why I stay behind it), so I totally understand how you feel. I love to keep things fun and casual, and give you space to warm up and get comfortable. I also use some pretty fun prompts to get you out of your shell!
